GENEVA, Ohio – Freshman Izaiah Brown (Amsterdam, N.Y.) and graduate seniorCorey Crawford (Oakland, N.J.) produced individual Big Ten titles during the Big Ten Indoor Track and Field Championships in Geneva, Ohio. Brown and Crawford were named First Team All-Big Ten for their efforts.

The Rutgers men’s track and field team finished ninth during the two-day event with 40 points. Nebraska claimed the team title with 116 points, followed by Wisconsin with 73 points. Minnesota rounded out the top three positions with 72 points.

Brown demonstrated why he is considered one of the fastest runners in the country, finishing the 400m in a time of 45.62. The mark was a school record, which was previously set by Brown on Jan. 9 during the Rutgers Invitational with a time of 46.61. His Big Ten title time was .61 seconds faster than the next time of 46.63 produced by Champ Page of Ohio State, and is also the fastest collegiate time in the country this indoor season.

Brown was the second Scarlet Knight to record a Big Ten individual title, joining graduate senior Corey Crawford (Oakland, N.J.), who captured the long jump title Friday night. Crawford secured first place in the event with a top jump of 7.69m, .04 meters further than the 7.65m jump recorded by Zach Ziemek of Wisconsin.
